About Alexa
Alexa originally joined the Body First Massage Therapy Staff in 2004. A few years later she moved to Richmond, Virginia and Body First lost one of its massage family. For three and a half years the residents of Richmond were graced with Alexa's expertise, experience, and technical massage therapy skills. In late 2009 Alexa moved back to the Manhattan area. Despite missing the beautiful beaches of the east coast and big city amenities, Alexa is glad to be back home.
Why Alexa became a massage therapist
Alexa has always had an interest in the how the human body works and knew she wanted to be part of the health care community. She knew she wanted to help people feel better, but she wanted to be involved in a more hands-on approach to helping others. Growing up she explored various career options but none seemed to have that personal touch she was looking for. It was not until a friend's illness that she discovered massage therapy
Alexa's experience with migraines, fibromyalgia, and TMJ sufferers.
Over the years Alexa has worked with a wide variety of clients. Using a wide variety of techniques including detail oriented work such as trigger point therapy Alexa has enabled to provide treatment for a variety of problems. She has experience working with conditions ranging from tight muscles to more serious conditions. Successfully helping clients with migraines, fibromyalgia, and TMJ sufferers has brought her great gratification.
Alexa's favorite client indulgement-Stone Massage
Alexa takes pleasure in helping people excape from the world even it is just for an hour. But Alexa's favorite massage treatment to indulge her clients in is a hot stone massage.
Alexa says, “I loves the benefits of this technique. The stones allows me to work deeper into the muscle without using alot of pressure. The heat of the stones are amazing during the winter and it is one of the most relaxing treatments.”
Her love of Hot Stone Massage is evident, she puts her heart and soul into every massage but Hot Stone Massage has a special place in her heart. Receiving a Hot Stone Massage from Alexa is relaxing, calming, and utterly mind numbing.
Additional Information
Whenever possible, Alexa herself receives a massage to distress and help her own muscles recover from giving massages. She highly suggests a good massage to relax, help manage pain, or to unwind. She offers a wide variety of appointment times including Sunday appointments. Mandy tends to fill available appointment times quickly so we suggest you call for an appointment several days ahead or you can also choose to have a standing appointment.
