Home to Manhattan's only indoor tennis facilities, Body First offers you the chance to measure your level of play and then improve with a variety of programs for the whole family. We offer the finest in tennis programs and instruction for all levels. Body First offers a variety of programs for youth to participate in, including:
All 8 and under groups are taught using the USTA Quickstart 8 and under format. Red Balls move slower through the air, bounce lower and travel less distance to maximize play. Classes taught on smaller courts using smaller nets. Focus on developing basic tennis and athletic skills through fun games.
All 10 and under groups are taught using the USTA Quickstart 10 and under format. Classes taught with an orange low-compression ball and on a 60’ court. The orange ball moves a little faster and travels farther than the red ball but still has a lower bounce than a standard yellow ball.
Groups are taught using the USTA Quickstart 12 and under format.Class utilizes slightly lower compression green balls (or green dot ball) on a 78’ Court. This class provides the perfect transition prior to joining a high performance training group.
Beginner/Intermediate Teen Player. This program was developed to allow teens the opportunity to learn and develop tennis skills in a low pressure, fun environment. Perfect for teens considering going out for their school tennis program for the first time, want to learn the game of tennis or just wish to have fun. NO TENNIS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Enrollment in High Performance Tournament Training is by pro approval only. These groups help maximize players’ potential. Groups designed for juniors who wish to play competitively, enhance their athletic performance and develop consistency and power into their game.
Group placement is determined by numerous factors including ability, maturity, and experience. A skill assessment is possible to determine what the player needs (skills, consistency, etc) to advance to a higher group. Advancing a player before they are ready can slow a player’s progress.
If you are unsure of group placement please
contact Tennis Director Ryan Marick.
