Guest, Member and Facility Policies

The following are the Body First  Facility Policies and Rules which have been established to ensure maximum enjoyment and usage of the facilities by all its members and guests The Policies and Rules are subject to change without notice and interpretation by Body First Management. All members, their guests, and others that use the facility do so at their own risk.  Body First LLC  is not responsible for any athletic or other injuries sustained while using the facilities.

General Policies

Conduct and Behavior

  • Proper Conduct
    At Body First we strive to uphold a safe, fun, family-oriented environment. As such, we expect proper, respectful conduct on the premises at all times. We do not permit disrespectful conduct toward our members, guests, employees , vendors or property including, including but not limited to vulgar, profane, indecent, offensive, violent, hostile, aggressive, threatening, harassing, stalking, fraudulent, or other inappropriate conduct or communications.
  • Proper Attire
    Members and guest are required to wear proper attire they are engaged in.  Shirts are to be worn during all workouts. Shoes are required for in the weight room and while use cardio equipment.
  • Weapons
    Weapons are not allowed on Body First premises.
  • Solicitation
    Unless expressly authorized by Body First LLC, you may not solicit-whether in person or in writing-any members, guests or staff members on the premises or during off-premises events, including but not limited to solicitations for political or religious purposes, media interviews, business opportunities, or competitive products or services
  • Locker and changing rooms conduct
    Proper etiquette is required in our locker rooms. You may not spit, sleep or engage in any sexual conduct in our locker rooms. You may not shave in, or use in the nude, the sauna, spa, or steam room. You may not work out or wear rubber suits or excessive clothing in the sauna or steam room. You must dispose of towels in the designated container. You may not use an electronic device equipped with a camera in our locker rooms. Our family locker room is for entry and use by a parent, legal guardian or responsible adult (such as a nanny, au pair, or grandparent) with his or her opposite-sex small children only.

  • Practice of proper sanitation practices.
    For personal hygiene, health, and safety all patrons are expected to practice proper sanitation practices. While no safety concern can ever be eliminated completely, we believe that reducing incidences of skin-to-skin and skin-to-equipment contact by increasing the clothing barrier can, along with other practices, assist in managing the risk. Bacteria and fungus are the most likely pathogens to be passed from skin-to-equipment contact in athletic settings. We also encourage all patrons to clean the equipment before and after each use. Infections that can spread without such attention includes bacterial staph, MRSA and fungal ringworm among others.

Electronic Devices policy

Body First Wi-FI and Internet

  • Cell Phones and Other Mobile Devices
    Cellular phones and other mobile devices may not be used in photographic or video mode in any locker room, rest room, sauna, steam room, Body First massage or service rooms, or other private area of the center.
    Refrain from taking any calls in any locker room, rest room, sauna, or service rooms. Please use common courtesy when using mobile devices in other areas of the center.
  • Photography and Video
    Professional photography and recording of video on the premises is not allowed without the advance approval of Body First. Personal photography is allowed in public areas of the facility only
  • Consent to Photograph, Record, etc.
    You must have consent to photograph/record any other member, guest or team member. Parents wishing to photograph/record their child during junior activities are required to not include other children in the recording or obtain consent from the parent to the minor child.
  • Body First Photography for Social Media Purposes
    Body First allows certain staff to take images of members and guests for social media purposes, including participants in group fitness BootCamp classes, Body First events, and clinics.
    If you do not wish to have images taken by Body First, please let the staff member know, so that you can opt out. By your continued use of Body FIrst’s premises and services, including participation in the class, you irrevocably consent to and grant Body First the exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free and otherwise unlimited right to use, copy, modify, distribute, publicly display and perform, publish, transmit, remove, retain, and re-purpose the images for any purpose in any media or form of communication, without additional consent and without compensation, including but not limited to Body First's commercial and promotional use on its corporate or employee social media sites.
  • Body First W-Fi and internet service
    Body FIrst provide complimentary Wi-Fi for its members. By accessing the  wireless network or internet service at Body FIrst, you agree not to use these Body First service transmit any material that violates any applicable laws, rules or regulations or to defame, harm or threaten or attempt to harm other persons, businesses or other entities.
    You also agree not to use our wireless network to transmit any material that infringes any copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret or other proprietary rights of any third party. You agree not to violate the security or integrity of our wireless network or to use our network to violate the security or integrity of any other network. Any such acts may result in criminal and civil liabilities to you. Use of this wireless connection is entirely at your risk and Body First LLC. disclaims all liability for loss of confidential information or damages resulting from that loss.
    We make no promises, representations or warranties of any kind concerning the suitability or security of this service and specifically disclaim all warranties of fitness for a particular purpose of security. The wireless service is provided “As Is.” You will remain connected to the Body First  wireless network until you disconnect and will automatically upon entry into the Body First wireless network radius. By using the wireless service, you agree to indemnify us, our officers and agents against all claims, demands, losses, damages, costs and expenses made against or incurred, suffered or sustained arising out of your use of the wireless service and agree that in no event will we be liable for any damages, including but not limited to any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the wireless service. We may block access or terminate the wireless service at any time and for any reason, and assume no liability for doing so. We may record information about your usage of our network and may use or disclose such information when appropriate to comply with the law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Body First LLC.

Membership Policies

Membership Tiers

  • Legacy Membership
    Legacy membership allows full access to Tennis Facilities and fitMHK locations. Includes all the benefits and amenities all other memberships.
  • Sports Membership
    Allows access to all fitMHK Locations. Access to tennis Facilities but member must pay court fees, and all the benefits and amenities of a fitness membership
  • Basic Membership
    Allows basic access to weight room, cardio areas, fitness areas, etc at the Claflin location. Basic members have limited tennis reservation privileges and must pay court fees.
  • Ball Machine Policy
    Ball Machine may only be used on designated courts during non prime time hours.
    Ball machine uses must be courteous of players on other courts
    After ball machine use all ball must be picked up and ball machine returned to proper storage area.

Membership Classifications

  • Single Membership
    Be courteous to all other members
    Legacy membership for one (1) adult. Available in all Membership types
  • Equipment Use Policies
    Reservations are based on availability.
    Court demand may limit maximum use to one session per individual and two sessions per day per family.
    Reservations will be limited to a maximum of 90 minutes.
    Additional court time will be on an availability basis and at the discretion of the Body First Staff. When reserving a court, you may only reserve for your party.
    Players who do not claim their reserved court within 15 minutes will forfeit the reservation and the court will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis
    Lessons are not considered court reservations. Late lesson cancellations shall warrant an automatic charge for the lesson.
  • Court Cancellation Policies
    Court times should be cancelled at least twelve hours in advance on the day of play, to allow for re-booking.
    Body First reserves the right to charge a $10 cancellation fee for any court not cancelled 12 hours prior court time.
    Body First reserves the right to revoke reservation privileges for repeat late cancellation offenders.
  • Ball Machine Policy
    Ball Machine may only be used on designated courts during non prime time hours.
    Ball machine uses must be courteous of players on other courts
    After ball machine use all ball must be picked up and ball machine returned to proper storage area.

Facility Policies

Tennis Policies

  • General Tennis Court Rules
    Abide by U.S.T.A. “Code of Conduct.” This means do not bang balls, throw your racquet, use improper language, or yell or scream constantly.
    Members waiting to play should be considerate of other players and not attempt to occupy the court until the other players’ time is expired and the point in progress is finished.
    The Tennis Center Courts are for playing games or rallying. Teaching is done by club staff and approved independent tennis instructors only with the exception of family members teaching their family.
    Members may use ball hoppers provided: the teaching staff does not need them: that all balls, hoppers and carts are cleared from the court at the end of play and use of balls does not interfere with the neighboring court’s enjoyment of the game.
    Guests may use the club in accordance with the Guest Fee/Court Fee/Lesson Fee Schedules and must follow all club rules

  • Tennis League Policies
    Members may not organize informal or formal tennis leagues, tournaments, or programs.
    We employ our staff to facilitate league play and guarantee equal opportunity at Body FIrst.
    You MUST be a Body First member in good standing to play in a Body First league. If a league does not have enough players league coordinator may recieve permission to a nonmember to the league for Body First. Nonmembers mus pay a league fee.
    Body First retains sole discretion to determine whether a member or guest is engaged in organizing or participating in in-House Time league play.

Fitness Areas Policies

  • General Weight Room Rules
    Be courteous to all other members
    Food and Drink are not allowed in weight room except for water containers.
    Music in the weight rooms is “for your ears only”. No radios or tape systems are permitted except the “walkman” or “ipod” type..
    Put free weights back in their proper place after use. It is especially important to remove very heavy plates from machines when you are finished..
